• Review day prior to tomorrow’s Exam over Chapter 1. 

• Complete the practice exam for Chapter 1... taking it as many times
  as is needed to get 100%.

9 Wednesday: (due EOC Sep 9 Wednesday)

• Watch the presentation outlining chapter 1 section 5. 

• Then complete the reading assignment from the text pages 24 – 27.

1. •Next, complete section 1.5 of this unit’s blue study guide packet.
   

2. •Review the answers (below) to section 1.5 of this unit’s blue study guide packet. 
   

3. •And lastly, take the quiz for C01§5 .
   

4. •If there are any slides that were not prepared or recorded and sent in (from the previous day’s assignment), then use some class time to finish that activity.
   

8 Tuesday: (due EOC Sep 9 Wednesday)

• Watch the Video Presentation on Slide preparation

• Make each of the following slide preparations and view (take pictures) each:

  – Dry mount with hair or paper as the subject

  – Wet mount with onion skin as the subject

  – Cover-slipped wet mount with onion skin as the subject

  – Cover-slipped wet mount of pond water (try to video capture a critter!)

4 Friday: B-day students (due BOC Sep 8 Tuesday)

• Creation of a Hay-infusion.

• Work day to get caught up with A day students:

• Text: Chapter 1 Sections 1-4 (pp1-17) read?

• Blue study guide packet: Chapter 1 Sections 1-4 Completed and Checked?

• Quiz for C01§4 and for each of the checked sections (1-4) completed? 

• Videos from previous day’s classes watched?

3 Thursday: B-day students (due BOC Sep 4 Friday)

• Watch the video on Mysteries of the Unseen World. 

2 Wednesday: B-day students (due BOC Sep 3 Thursday)

• Watch the video and presentation on How a Microscope Works.

• Label the handout showing the parts of a simple light microscope.

• Use a simple light microscope to view (and photograph) prepared slides.

1 Tuesday: A-day students (due BOC Sep 2 Wednesday)

• Watch the video and presentation on How a Microscope Works.

• Label the handout showing the parts of a simple light microscope.

27 Thursday: Both A and B students (due BOC Aug 28 Friday)

• In class, welcome B-day students and review with them what has been covered    thus far M-W with the A-day students.

• Watch the video on the Nature of Science.

• Watch the presentation outlining chapter 1 section 3. 

• For next time, complete the reading assignment from the text pages 13 – 17, and   then complete section 1.3 of this unit’s blue study guide packet.

26 Wednesday: Both A and B students (due BOC Aug 27 Thursday)

• Review and then take quiz over C1§1

• Then, review the answers (below) to section 1.2 of this unit’s blue study guide packet. 

• If time allows, take quiz over C1§2

25 Tuesday: Both A and B students (due BOC Aug 26 Wednesday)

• Watch the video on Characteristics of Life .

• Then, review the answers (below) to section 1.1 of this unit’s blue study guide packet. 

• We would normally take a quickie quiz over the 1.1 content next, but because of early out, the quiz will be given at the beginning of the next class.

• Watch the presentation outlining chapter 1 section 2. 

• For next time, complete the reading assignment from the text pages 7 – 11, and then complete section 1.2 of this unit’s blue study guide packet.

24 Monday: Both A and B students (due BOC Aug 25 Tuesday)

• Watch the presentation outlining chapter 1 section 1.

• Then complete the reading assignment from the text pages 2 – 6.

• And lastly for this assignment, complete section 1.1 of this unit’s blue

   study guide packet.
